This weeks blog post is all about what I highly recommend for any college student!

Anything from portable chargers to a desk calendar! I hope you enjoy this post and look out for more coming soon!

1. A Water Filter: One of the most important things to have is clean water without using an excess amount of unnecessary plastic. Personally, I did not consider this before moving, but I definitely know it’s best to have one now! I like the security of sipping on purified water without worrying about quality. Also no guilt about excess use of non-biodegradable plastic water bottles. Another suggestion is a small ice tray for quick access to ice. This is the one I will be using when I head back to school.

2. A Desk Calendar: A calendar is a must because it’s easy to use and helps keep you organized. This one you can lay on your desk and see laid out on your desk. I love using this, because it helps keep me productive and organized. Its easy to see your week all planned out and helpful by keeping you on track daily.

3. Shower Caddy/Tower: Shower caddies are perfect for keeping all of your important shower essentials in check. Place your body wash, shampoo, conditioner, loofah, body scrub, and shaving musts in this caddy for easy on the go style and portability. Over the toilet shelf towers are fantastic to be shared in a bathroom in a suite or joined rooms.

4. A Desk Lamp: This might be an obvious item, but you will be pulling all-nighters and some libraries close at night so to be prepared for late night studying or perhaps coming back at 5 am from Walmart and Waffle House and need to see where your bed is. I highly suggest this desk lamp from Walmart.

5. Extra Storage: Yes, I will have another blog post all on extra storage hacks and tips. But three areas you may want to consider taking advantage of now would be: under the bed, extra hanging closet space, and a shoe rack. Personally, I raised the height of my bed to be able to expand underneath storage space for all my extra clothes. I have two gray storage bags similar to this:

6. A Rug/Curtains: A great staple décor piece and style emphasis is an indoor rug. I added a white fur rug to match the ones I had at home. I love good deals and I found my first rug in patterned grey at Big Lots and my white fur one at Walmart. I never invested in curtains, but I really wish I had because they can really up your room style game.

7. A Lounge Pillow Chair: You guys! This is a MUST have! I love a lounger pillow for doing my work daily sitting on my bed. It gives great back support and is incredibly comfortable too. Here is one similar to mine:

8. A 5-Subject Notebook: An absolute game changer for extremely unorganized people like me. I have a total of five classes on my schedule and this was seriously life changing as I was able to keep all of my classes and handouts and papers with me, because it comes with pocket folders in the notebook. I never have to go searching for an individual notebook or folder because it’s all together and I never leave homework or assignments anymore either.

9. Portable chargers/Extension cords: I’m not kidding, it’s a life saver. Get you a portable charger so you don’t have to leave wherever you are to go and charge you iPod Pros, iPhone, iPad, MacBook back at your dorm. Get a charger that works in the car cigarette lighter, a wall plugin, and a portable one if none if those are avalible! Extension cords for the room are so great to have as well! You can find cute ones that aren’t construction colored too!

10. Cleaning Supplies- Cleaning supplies is a must! I didn’t consider this going into college but looking back, a Swiffer and a broom and a small vaccume would have been life changing! I know that’s a lot, but cleaniliness should be a priority. Windex and Clorox wipes are so so helpful in keeping a clean work space. Also don’t forget about your dishes! Dish soap, sponge, and a dish towel are NEEDED if you plan on eating in your room, unless you opt for plastic ware and paper plates.
